Food and entertainment from countries around the world will highlight the 46th annual International Dinner and Culture Show on Saturday, April 27, in the University Student Union (USU) Ballroom at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). The theme of this year’s celebration is “Global Fusion.”
Sponsored by the International Student Association with co-sponsorship from Associated Students Inc., and support from the Center for International Education and local businesses and restaurants, the event will begin at 6 p.m.
Following a dinner of cuisine representing various cultures around the world, the program will feature international students and local acts performing musical entertainment and dancing from genres such as Bollywood, folklorico, salsa, belly dancing, flamenco and Chinese folk music, as well as acts with Polynesian, Chinese, Aztec and Lebanese origins.
Along with the performances, students will present a fashion show featuring traditional clothing worn in a variety of countries across the globe.
“Becoming a citizen of the world begins from appreciating diversity and cultures,” said Jaejin Eum, International Student Association event chair. “The 46th annual International Dinner and Culture Show can help you become that citizen.”
The cost for students with I.D. is $10. Single tickets for faculty and staff are $15, and admission for the general public is $20 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Center for International Education in Brotman Hall, Room 201, the USU events center or from International Student Association officers.
