The Hospitality Management Program at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) has awarded its first three scholarships under its new affiliation with the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Foundation’s (AHLEF) Annual Scholarship Grant program. Under this program, AHLEF will allocate a total of $3,000 annually from the Americas Lodging Investment Summit Scholarship Fund for distribution to qualified undergraduate students in CSULB’s Hospitality Management program.
The first recipients are Allison LaKomski, Long Beach; Kathleen Gullery, Canyon Country; and Jacqueline Ho, San Gabriel.
Recipients of the scholarships are known as America’s Lodging Investment Summit Scholars. There at total of 85 two-year and four-year schools that participate in this program nationwide and only five of 15 schools applying this year were added to the program. CSULB’s Hospitality Management program was one of the five.
CSULB faculty developed a nominating process and qualified students’ nominations went forward with the student’s application to the AHLEF.
